Experience the excitement of a mainland safari followed by the peaceful shores of Zanzibar. A Tanzania wildlife safari and Zanzibar holiday combines game drives, beautiful landscapes, comfortable accommodation, and time beside the Indian Ocean.
With Kilipath African Safaris, you can create a journey that suits your dates, budget, and interests. Explore Tanzania’s Northern Circuit before flying to Zanzibar, or begin your holiday on the island and travel to the mainland for your safari.
Discover Tanzania’s Wildlife and Zanzibar’s Beaches
Tanzania’s Northern Circuit brings together Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro—three destinations that feature in the Tanzania Tourist Board’s safari itineraries. Combining these parks gives your holiday a varied route through different wildlife habitats and landscapes. site.tanzaniatourism.go.tz
After your safari, Zanzibar offers beach relaxation alongside cultural experiences. You can spend your days resting at your hotel or add a spice farm visit, a cultural tour, or an excursion to Jozani Forest. zanzibartourism.go.tz
This combination suits couples, honeymooners, families, friends, and travelers who want both adventure and time to unwind.
Suggested 9-Day Tanzania Wildlife Safari and Zanzibar Package
The following itinerary is a suggested private holiday. Accommodation, flights, and activities are confirmed according to your travel dates and availability.
Day 1: Arrival and Overnight in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, where your arranged transfer takes you to your hotel. Meet our team for a safari briefing, review your itinerary, and settle in before the adventure begins.
Arriving the day before your safari gives you time to rest after your journey.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Leave Arusha after breakfast and travel to Tarangire for your first game drive. Explore the park with your guide, watching for elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and other wildlife.
Enjoy lunch during your safari before continuing your afternoon exploration. Later, travel to your selected lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Travel to Serengeti National Park
Continue toward Serengeti through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This is a substantial travel day, so the itinerary balances the journey with stops and wildlife viewing where time permits.
Enjoy a game drive after entering Serengeti, then settle into your tented camp or lodge.
Day 4: Full-Day Serengeti Safari
Spend the day exploring Serengeti with your professional guide. A full day allows more time to follow wildlife activity and appreciate the plains without immediately moving to another destination.
Discuss your interests with your guide, whether you enjoy big cats, birds, photography, or simply observing animals in their natural surroundings. Wildlife sightings depend on conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha
Depart early for your journey to Ngorongoro and descend into the crater for a game drive. Explore its different habitats, enjoy lunch, and continue wildlife viewing before returning to Arusha.
Spend the night in Arusha. This overnight stop provides a comfortable break before your flight to Zanzibar.
Day 6: Fly to Zanzibar
Transfer to the airport for your confirmed domestic flight. On arrival in Zanzibar, meet your driver and continue to your beach hotel.
Spend the afternoon relaxing and enjoying your new surroundings. Your hotel’s meal plan will be clearly stated in the quotation.
Days 7–8: Zanzibar Beach Stay
Enjoy two full days at your own pace. Relax beside the sea or choose optional excursions such as a spice tour, Stone Town visit, or Jozani Forest experience.
Tell us whether you prefer a quiet retreat, a family-friendly hotel, or a honeymoon stay so we can suggest suitable accommodation.
Day 9: Departure
Enjoy breakfast and any remaining free time before your arranged airport transfer, timed around your departure flight.
What Can Your Package Include?
Your personalized quotation can include:
- Safari transport in a 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof.
- A professional English-speaking safari guide.
- Park entry and crater fees for the agreed itinerary.
- Safari accommodation and specified meals.
- Drinking water during game drives.
- Domestic flights between the mainland and Zanzibar.
- Zanzibar accommodation with your chosen meal plan.
- Agreed airport and hotel transfers.
International flights, tips, personal expenses, travel insurance, and optional excursions are generally separate unless expressly included.
Accommodation and Package Prices
Choose budget camping, comfortable lodges, tented camps, or luxury accommodation for the safari portion. In Zanzibar, select a hotel that matches your preferred atmosphere and comfort level.
The total price depends on your dates, group size, accommodation, flights, and activities. A private safari provides a dedicated vehicle and greater scheduling flexibility. A shared safari may help reduce costs, although its route and departure arrangements are less flexible.
Request an itemized quotation so you can see exactly what your holiday includes.
When Should You Travel?
June to October is Zanzibar’s dry season and a good period for outdoor activities, according to the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism. We can plan your safari route alongside your preferred beach dates. Weather and wildlife movements remain variable. zanzibartourism.go.tz
