A Sample Six-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary
This suggested itinerary includes an arrival day followed by five safari days. Accommodation and activities can be adjusted when preparing your quotation.
Day 1: Arrive in Arusha
Arrange a transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport to your hotel. Meet your safari representative for a briefing, review your itinerary and prepare for the journey ahead. Confirm whether this arrival night and transfer are included in your package.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Leave Arusha after breakfast for a game drive in Tarangire. The park is known for its elephants and baobab landscapes, making it a memorable introduction to Tanzania’s wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing your game drive and travelling to your overnight accommodation. TANAPA
Day 3: Travel to Serengeti National Park
Continue towards the Serengeti through the Ngorongoro highlands. This is a substantial travel day, with changing scenery along the route. Depending on arrival time, enjoy an afternoon game drive before dinner at your camp or lodge.
Day 4: Explore the Serengeti
Spend the day exploring with your guide, allowing time to watch animal behaviour and enjoy the landscapes. A second Serengeti night gives you more time in the park. Wildlife sightings depend on natural conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
Day 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highlands
Enjoy a morning game drive before travelling towards the Ngorongoro highlands. Overnight near the crater or in the Karatu area, depending on your selected accommodation and confirmed route.
Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha
Depart early for your crater excursion, enjoy a picnic lunch and return to Arusha afterwards. Confirm onward flight arrangements before booking, allowing sufficient time for the road transfer and airport check-in.
What Does All Inclusive Cover?
Your written quotation should clearly identify:
- Safari vehicle and professional driver-guide.
- Scheduled game drives and applicable park fees.
- Accommodation, meals and drinking water.
- Crater service fees for the planned excursion.
- Any included airport transfers and arrival accommodation.
International flights, visas, insurance, tips, premium drinks and optional activities may cost extra. “All inclusive” should always be checked against the package’s specific inclusions.
