An all-inclusive Tanzania safari makes planning simpler: your route, safari vehicle, guide, accommodation, meals, and park visits are arranged as one trip. But “all-inclusive” does not mean exactly the same thing with every operator. Flights, airport transfers, drinks, tips, and optional activities may be included in one quote and excluded from another.

What does an all-inclusive Tanzania safari usually include?
A typical package covers a 4×4 safari vehicle, a professional driver-guide, scheduled game drives, accommodation during the safari, specified meals, drinking water, and the park and conservation fees required for the itinerary.
The details matter. A quote should identify each overnight stay, the meal plan for every day, pickup and drop-off points, and whether you will travel in a shared or private vehicle. Ask for these details in writing so you can compare packages fairly.

Are flights included?
Only if the package says so. Many road safaris begin and end in Arusha without flights. A fly-in safari may include a domestic flight to or from the Serengeti, while international flights are generally arranged separately.
If you are arriving from Zanzibar, tell your consultant your hotel location and preferred travel dates. Flight times affect how much game-drive time is possible on your first and last safari days. Your quote should state who arranges the flights and any airport or hotel transfers.
Which parks can I visit?
The most suitable route depends on how many days you have. A northern Tanzania safari may combine Tarangire National Park, the Serengeti, and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Tarangire is known for its baobabs and wildlife around the Tarangire River. The Serengeti offers wide plains and varied game-viewing areas. Ngorongoro adds a distinctive crater visit to many northern routes. Tarangire also fits naturally into a northern circuit journey toward Ngorongoro and the Serengeti. TANAPA
A short trip benefits from a focused route. Adding too many distant parks can leave you spending much of your holiday on the road. If you have more time, you can add extra nights for a less hurried experience.
What accommodation is available?
You can choose from budget camping, tented camps, and mid-range or luxury lodges, subject to availability.
On a camping safari, you stay at designated campsites and use shared facilities. A tented camp generally offers a bed and more comfort; facilities vary by property. Lodges offer another range of room styles and services. The location matters as much as the accommodation type: a stay inside a park or close to its entrance can affect your daily driving schedule.
Before booking, check the names of the proposed properties, room type, bathroom arrangements, and whether any accommodation is a provisional alternative.
Will I share the safari vehicle?
That depends on the package. Kilipath’s shared safaris use a 4×4 Land Cruiser with a maximum of seven guests and a guaranteed window seat for each traveler. You follow the group’s planned route and schedule.
A private safari gives your party its own vehicle and guide. It is a good choice if you want more control over departure times, time spent at sightings, accommodation, or activities. It also allows us to plan routes that do not fit a standard shared departure.
Are meals and drinks included?
Safari packages commonly include the meals listed in the itinerary and drinking water in the vehicle. Depending on the accommodation and package, other drinks may be included or charged separately.
Tell us about dietary needs before travel, whether you are vegetarian, vegan, halal, or have specific foods you avoid. Also check the meals on your arrival and departure days. Those days may have different arrangements from full safari days.
Can I see the Great Migration?
You may be able to plan around areas where migrating herds are expected, but wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. The herds move in response to changing conditions, so a date alone cannot promise a particular crossing or gathering.
The area you choose is especially important. Travelers interested in the northern Serengeti generally look at the July to October period, while Ndutu is often considered for the calving season from roughly December to April. A private itinerary provides more flexibility for these specific areas. If migration is your priority, share your dates before selecting a package.
Are airport transfers included?
Transfers depend on the agreed pickup and drop-off points. For example, a package starting in Arusha may include pickup from a local hotel or Arusha Airport, while a transfer from Kilimanjaro International Airport or Moshi may be priced separately.
Send your flight details before booking and check the transfer wording in your quote. If you arrive late in the day, an overnight stay before the safari may be more practical than trying to begin a long road journey immediately.
What expenses might be excluded?
Common exclusions include international flights, visa costs, travel insurance, tips, alcoholic drinks, personal purchases, and optional activities such as a balloon safari. Domestic flights and airport transfers may also be excluded unless expressly listed.

How many days should I book?
For a first northern safari, three to five days gives you several route options. Three days calls for careful choices because travel takes time. Four or five days can make it easier to combine Tarangire, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro with a more comfortable pace.
Consider where you will be the night before departure and where you must go afterward. A late international flight, a Zanzibar connection, or a long transfer can change the best order of parks. We can suggest an itinerary once we know your dates, arrival point, and departure plans.
What should I pack?
Pack light, comfortable clothing in neutral colors, sun protection, closed shoes, and a warm layer for early mornings and the Ngorongoro highlands. Bring any medication you need, a camera, and charging equipment. A soft bag is useful, especially if your trip includes a small domestic aircraft with baggage limits.
Your exact packing list should reflect your accommodation and activities. Camping guests may want additional warm clothing; travelers taking domestic flights should check the baggage allowance shown on their ticket.
How do I choose the right package?
Ask for a written itinerary that answers five questions:
- Where will I go each day, and where will I sleep?
- Is the vehicle shared or private?
- Which meals, fees, transfers, and flights are included?
- What activities or expenses cost extra?
- What are the payment and cancellation terms?
