Day-by-Day Budget Tanzania Safari Package Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Meet your guide in Arusha and travel to Tarangire for a game drive. Look for elephants, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife among the park’s baobabs and woodland. Stop for lunch at a designated picnic area before continuing your drive, then travel to your overnight accommodation outside the park.
Tarangire’s elephants and baobab scenery make it a memorable introduction to Tanzania’s Northern Circuit. Wildlife sightings vary with the season and conditions.
Day 2: Travel to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, begin the long journey toward the Serengeti through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This day includes substantial driving, so expect a combination of road travel and afternoon wildlife viewing rather than a full day of game drives.
Explore Central Serengeti as time and entry arrangements allow, then settle into a public campsite for dinner and your overnight stay. The Serengeti’s grasslands, woodlands and rocky kopjes support diverse wildlife, including resident predators.
Day 3: Serengeti Game Drive to Ngorongoro
Head out for a morning game drive and search for wildlife with your guide. Lions, hyenas, antelope and other animals may be encountered, although no particular sighting is guaranteed.
Later, leave the Serengeti and continue toward the Ngorongoro area for dinner and an overnight camping stay. The exact departure time follows the group itinerary and park permit arrangements. This short route normally includes one night in the Serengeti; request a longer itinerary if more time there is your priority.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Explore its varied habitats while looking for wildlife, with a picnic lunch during the day. Allow approximately four to five hours for the crater visit, subject to arrangements and conditions.
Return to Arusha later in the afternoon or early evening. Share any onward flight details before booking so we can assess the transfer plan and suitable departure timing.
What Is Included?
Your written quotation will confirm all inclusions. For the proposed shared camping package, these normally cover:
- Shared safari vehicle with a pop-up roof and a window seat.
- English-speaking guide and scheduled game drives.
- Park entry and applicable conservation, camping and crater service fees for the agreed route.
- Three nights of accommodation as listed in your proposal.
- Meals during the safari, with the meal plan specified in your quote.
- Drinking water and soft drinks during the safari.
- Tents, mattresses, sleeping bags and pillows for camping nights.
International and domestic flights, visas, travel insurance, tips, optional activities and personal expenses are excluded unless explicitly added. Airport transfers and accommodation before or after the safari must also be confirmed separately.
What Is Budget Camping Like?
Public campsites offer a simple outdoor experience with shared toilets and showers. Facilities are basic, and electricity and hot water can be limited. Bring your own towel, a headlamp, a power bank and warm layers for cool evenings around Ngorongoro.
Prefer a bed and private bathroom? Ask about budget lodge alternatives. Availability, additional accommodation charges and any associated park fees will be shown in the revised quote.
How to Keep Your Safari Affordable
A shared departure spreads vehicle and guide costs across the group. Camping can also reduce accommodation expenses. To compare offers fairly, check the route, number of nights inside the parks, meals, transfers and all applicable fees.
If four days exceeds your budget, ask about a shorter Tarangire and Ngorongoro itinerary. If the Serengeti is essential, explain that first so we can prioritize it when preparing your options. Shared routes follow a set schedule; private safaris offer more flexibility at a different cost.
