What Makes a Safari Premium?
A premium safari combines comfort with thoughtful planning. A beautiful lodge matters, but its location also affects how much time you spend reaching wildlife areas. An ambitious itinerary can look impressive while leaving too little time for game drives or relaxation.
Our planning approach considers how each day will feel. We discuss your preferred pace, the wildlife you hope to see, and the accommodation features that matter most to you.
Your private vehicle gives your group more flexibility during game drives. You can spend longer observing an interesting sighting, discuss photography stops with your guide, and arrange meal breaks around the day’s activities, within park rules and operating hours.
Premium accommodation options can include private bathrooms, comfortable beds, inviting dining areas, and views of the surrounding landscape. We explain the facilities of each proposed property before you book.
Destinations Included in Your Safari
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire introduces you to a landscape of baobab trees, river terraces, and open savannah. The park is particularly known for its elephants and distinctive baobab scenery, making it a rewarding addition to a northern Tanzania safari.
Including Tarangire near the beginning of your itinerary gives you time to settle into the rhythm of safari travel before continuing toward the Serengeti.
Serengeti National Park
The Serengeti offers opportunities to search for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and other wildlife across a vast landscape. It is also home to the Great Migration, with wildebeest and zebras moving through the ecosystem.
For this proposed package, three nights in the Serengeti allow two full days of exploration. Your accommodation location will depend on your dates, availability, and whether your priority is general wildlife viewing or a migration-focused route.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro adds a different setting to your journey, with wildlife viewing inside a volcanic crater surrounded by highland scenery.
We plan your overnight location and onward travel carefully so the crater visit fits comfortably into your itinerary. Wildlife sightings remain unpredictable throughout every safari.
Suggested 7-Day Premium Tanzania Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Overnight in Arusha
Meet your transfer driver at the airport specified in your booking and continue to your Arusha accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, relax at the hotel and receive a safari briefing.
An overnight stay before the safari gives you time to recover from your flight and prepare for the journey.
Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, travel to Tarangire for your first game drive. Explore with your private guide, stopping to observe wildlife and photograph the landscape.
Enjoy lunch during the day, then continue to your selected lodge or tented camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Travel to the Serengeti
Continue toward the Serengeti through the northern circuit. This is a substantial travel day, so departure time and stops will be planned accordingly.
Where timing and your booked entry arrangements permit, enjoy wildlife viewing before reaching your camp. Settle in for dinner and prepare for the following day’s exploration.
Day 4: Full Day in the Serengeti
Spend the day exploring with your guide. Choose a full-day outing with a packed lunch, or discuss separate drives where your camp’s location makes this practical.
Your guide will plan the route around conditions and wildlife activity. There is time to observe animal behavior and enjoy sightings without immediately moving onward.
Day 5: Another Full Day in the Serengeti
A second full day gives you more flexibility to explore different areas or return to promising locations.
A sunrise balloon safari may be added at extra cost, subject to availability, weather, and operating location. If requested, we will coordinate it with your accommodation and game-drive schedule.
Day 6: Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Area
Enjoy wildlife viewing as your departure timing allows, then continue toward the Ngorongoro area.
Stay at a selected property near the crater rim or in Karatu, depending on your preferences and budget. The final quote will identify the property and its location.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater and Return
Depart for your crater game drive according to the agreed schedule. After the visit, continue to Arusha or your confirmed drop-off point.
Share your onward flight details before booking. We will assess whether a same-day airport transfer is practical or whether an additional overnight stay would improve the plan.
Choosing Your Travel Dates
Your ideal dates depend on what you want from the journey. TANAPA identifies June to October as a key dry-season period for Serengeti migration viewing and January to February for calving-season experiences.
Migration-focused planning also requires selecting the appropriate accommodation area. Herd movements respond to rainfall and grazing conditions, so calendar dates cannot guarantee a particular sighting or river crossing.
If migration viewing is your main priority, tell us at the enquiry stage. We can assess whether your route needs more nights or a different Serengeti location.
Accommodation and Package Pricing
Your premium Tanzania wildlife safari price depends on your travel dates, group size, accommodation, room arrangements, and transport choices.
A quotation for two travelers sharing one room will differ from a family requiring several rooms. Domestic flights, additional safari nights, and optional experiences also affect the total.
We provide a personalized quote rather than applying one price to every journey. Tell us your approximate budget so we can recommend a suitable combination of accommodation and safari time.
What Your Quotation Should Include
The proposed package can be quoted with:
- A private safari vehicle and professional guide.
- Accommodation and the specified meal plan.
- Park entry and applicable safari fees.
- Scheduled game drives and crater access.
- Drinking water during safari travel.
- The airport and hotel transfers listed in your itinerary.
Flights, balloon safaris, additional activities, gratuities, travel insurance, visas, and personal purchases should be clearly identified as included or excluded. Your final written quotation governs the booking.
