This proposed six-day itinerary includes an arrival day in Arusha followed by five safari days. Two nights in Central Serengeti provide time for a full day of wildlife viewing without changing accommodation.

Tanzania Safari Itinerary: Day by Day

Day 1: Arrival and Overnight in Arusha

Arrive at Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport. We can arrange your transfer to the hotel according to your booking.

Meet our team for a safari briefing and discuss the following morning’s departure, luggage arrangements, and any dietary requirements. The remainder of the day is free to rest after your journey.

If your arrival time allows, an optional Arusha activity can be discussed in advance.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, leave Arusha for Tarangire National Park. Enjoy your first game drive among the park’s baobabs, grasslands, and woodland.

Your guide will choose the route according to wildlife activity and conditions. Take time to watch animal behavior, enjoy the scenery, and ask questions about the landscape.

Lunch is included during the excursion. Continue wildlife viewing before traveling to your lodge or campsite near Tarangire or in the Karatu area.

Day 3: Journey to Central Serengeti

Depart after breakfast and travel through the Ngorongoro highlands toward Serengeti National Park.

This is a longer driving day, so the itinerary allows for the journey as well as wildlife viewing after entering the park. Your afternoon game drive continues toward your accommodation, with stops for sightings along the way.

Arrive at your camp or lodge for dinner and your first Serengeti overnight.

Day 4: Full-Day Serengeti Safari

Spend a full day exploring Central Serengeti with your private guide.

Depending on the camp location and planned drive, you may take lunch into the park or arrange a break at your accommodation.

A sunrise balloon safari can be requested as an optional activity, subject to availability and an additional charge.

Day 5: Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Area

Spend the night near Ngorongoro or in Karatu, ready for the next morning’s crater excursion.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha

After the game drive, return to Arusha. An airport transfer or additional hotel night can be arranged.
