Why Include Ngorongoro in Your Tanzania Safari?
Ngorongoro Crater combines dramatic scenery with diverse wildlife habitats. Grasslands, wetlands and wooded areas create a varied setting for game viewing within the crater. Ngorongoro Lengai Geopark
A crater safari offers opportunities to look for lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos and the endangered black rhino. Every visit is different, and wildlife sightings depend on conditions and animal movements. Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA)
Ngorongoro also fits naturally into a northern Tanzania itinerary alongside Tarangire and Serengeti, allowing travelers to experience several landscapes during one journey. site.tanzaniatourism.go.tz

Sample Four-Day Tanzania Safari Itinerary
This sample route combines Tarangire, Central Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. Accommodation and the final schedule are confirmed in your quotation.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Leave Arusha in the morning and travel to Tarangire for your first game drive. The park is known for its elephant families and distinctive baobab landscapes. Tarangire National Park
Enjoy lunch during your safari before continuing your wildlife exploration. Later, travel to your overnight accommodation near the park or in the surrounding area.
Day 2: Travel to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, continue through the Ngorongoro highlands toward the Serengeti. This is a substantial travel day, with changing scenery along the route.
Enjoy game viewing as time permits after entering the park, then settle into your campsite or tented accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Serengeti Game Drive and Ngorongoro Highlands
Spend the morning exploring Central Serengeti with your guide. Your route follows wildlife activity and the time available.
Later, travel toward the Ngorongoro area for your overnight stay. On a private itinerary, an additional Serengeti night can give you more time to explore before continuing.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha
Depart early for your crater safari. Explore the crater floor with your guide, stopping for lunch at a designated picnic area.
After your game drive, ascend from the crater and return to Arusha. Tell us about any onward flight before booking so we can assess the transfer schedule.
Prefer a Longer Safari?
A five- or six-day private itinerary can offer a more relaxed journey, especially when you want additional time in the Serengeti.
You may also request Lake Manyara, cultural experiences or an extension after your safari. Northern Serengeti and Ndutu require a private itinerary with routing planned around your dates.
For shared departures, the route and overnight schedule follow the group program. Discuss your priorities with us before choosing your package.
What Does Your Safari Package Include?
Your written quotation will specify the inclusions for your selected itinerary. These commonly cover:
- Safari transport in a 4×4 Land Cruiser with a pop-up roof.
- An English-speaking driver-guide.
- Accommodation and meals listed in the itinerary.
- Park entry and crater charges required for the agreed route.
- Drinking water during the safari.
- Camping equipment and a chef for camping packages.
Ask us to confirm airport transfers, accommodation before or after the safari, drinks and optional activities. International flights, visas, personal purchases and gratuities should also be checked against your quotation.
How Much Will Your Tanzania Safari Cost?
The price depends on your travel dates, number of guests, safari duration and accommodation choices. A private safari price also changes according to how many travelers share the vehicle.
To compare quotations fairly, check the exact route, nights in each destination, accommodation names and included fees. A lower headline price may involve a different itinerary or accommodation standard.
Share your budget with us, and we can suggest practical adjustments to the duration, accommodation or safari format.
