Suggested 6-Day Private Northern Circuit Safari
This itinerary gives you two nights in the Serengeti and time to explore four destinations.
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Depart Arusha after your safari briefing and travel to Tarangire for a game drive. Explore the park’s woodland and open landscapes while your guide searches for wildlife.
Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon exploration. Later, transfer to your lodge or campsite in the Tarangire or Karatu area.
Overnight: Lodge or campsite selected in your quotation.
Day 2: Travel to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti. This is a substantial travel day, with changing scenery along the route.
Continue with wildlife viewing after entering the park, subject to arrival time, before reaching your accommodation.
Overnight: Central Serengeti.
Day 3: Explore Central Serengeti
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti with your private guide. Discuss your wildlife interests and preferred pace so the day can be planned around conditions and sightings.
A picnic lunch allows you to remain out exploring. An optional sunrise balloon safari can be requested in advance at an additional cost, subject to availability.
Overnight: Central Serengeti.
Day 4: Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Area
Enjoy further wildlife viewing before beginning the journey toward Ngorongoro. The timing of your departure will depend on your accommodation location and park-entry arrangements.
Arrive at your accommodation with time for dinner and rest before the following day’s crater visit.
Overnight: Ngorongoro area or Karatu.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater Safari
Depart early for your scheduled crater descent. Explore the crater floor with your guide, stopping for wildlife sightings and a picnic lunch.
Wildlife encounters vary, and particular species cannot be guaranteed. After your crater visit, ascend and continue to your accommodation.
Overnight: Karatu area.
Day 6: Lake Manyara and Return to Arusha
After breakfast, visit Lake Manyara for a final game drive. Its forest and lakeside scenery provide a different setting from the Serengeti plains.
Later, return to Arusha. Arrange onward flights around the confirmed itinerary and transfer time, allowing for possible road delays.
Shared Safari or Private Safari?
Shared Northern Circuit Safari
A shared safari suits travelers who want to divide vehicle and guiding costs with other guests.
Kilipath’s shared safaris accommodate a maximum of seven guests in a safari Land Cruiser, with a window seat for each traveler. An English-speaking guide leads the trip, and the group follows a set itinerary.
Confirm the overnight arrangement before booking: public camping and tented-lodge accommodation offer different facilities.
Private Northern Circuit Safari
A private safari provides a dedicated vehicle and guide for your party. It allows greater flexibility in daily timing, accommodation and time spent at sightings, within park rules and travel requirements.
Choose this option for a longer Serengeti stay, a tailored family itinerary or a seasonal extension to Ndutu or Northern Serengeti.
The Northern Circuit is a regional safari route; Northern Serengeti is one specific area within the Serengeti. Visiting the Northern Circuit does not automatically include Northern Serengeti.
How Much Does a Northern Circuit Safari Cost?
Your quotation depends on:
- Travel dates and total safari duration.
- Number and ages of travelers.
- Shared or private vehicle arrangements.
- Camping, tented-camp or lodge accommodation.
- Room configuration and accommodation availability.
- Flights, airport transfers and optional activities.
Request a written quotation showing the total price, price per person, accommodation names, inclusions, exclusions and payment terms.
What Can Your Package Include?
Depending on the selected package, your quotation can include safari transport, a professional guide, scheduled park visits, accommodation, specified meals and drinking water.
Camping packages can also include camping equipment and a safari chef.
International flights, travel insurance, visa costs, tips, balloon safaris and accommodation outside the safari dates should be checked separately. Your confirmed quotation will state exactly what is covered.
