Your 5-Day Tanzania Safari Package Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Meet your guide in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park. Your first game drive introduces you to a landscape of baobab trees, open woodland and river valleys.
Look for elephants, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife while your guide explains animal behavior and the surrounding habitat. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing your afternoon exploration.
Later, leave the park and travel to your accommodation near Mto wa Mbu or Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area toward the Serengeti. This is a substantial transfer day, with changing scenery along the way.
After completing entry formalities, continue with wildlife viewing as you travel toward your camp or lodge. Your guide will choose a practical route based on available time, road conditions and recent sightings.
Arrive at your Serengeti accommodation for dinner and your first night surrounded by the sounds of the bush.
Day 3: Full-Day Serengeti Safari
Spend the day exploring the Serengeti with your guide. With no accommodation transfer planned, you have more time to follow wildlife sightings and enjoy the landscape.
Look for lions, elephants, buffalo, giraffes and antelope. Leopards and cheetahs may also be encountered, although every sighting depends on natural conditions.
Your guide will coordinate lunch and game-drive timing. An optional balloon safari may be requested in advance, subject to availability and an additional charge.
Day 4: Serengeti to the Ngorongoro Area
Enjoy another morning of wildlife viewing before departing the Serengeti. Continue toward the Ngorongoro area, with stops where practical.
Spend the night at accommodation on the crater rim or in Karatu, depending on your selected package. Your overnight location influences the following morning’s departure time, so it should be clearly identified in your quotation.
Have dinner and prepare for an early start.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Depart early for your Ngorongoro Crater visit. Descend to the crater floor for a game drive through grassland, wetland and woodland habitats.
Search for wildlife with your guide and enjoy a picnic lunch at a designated location. Rhino sightings are possible but cannot be guaranteed.
After your crater visit, ascend and return to Arusha. Confirm any onward flight with your consultant before booking, allowing sufficient time for the road transfer and airport check-in.
