Sample 5-Day Private Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire
Meet your guide and travel to Tarangire for your first game drive. Enjoy lunch during the day, then continue to your selected lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Travel to Serengeti
After breakfast, journey towards Serengeti through the Ngorongoro highlands. This is a substantial travel day, with wildlife viewing as you approach your camp. Settle in for dinner and the evening.
Day 3: Explore Serengeti
Spend the day on game drives, with the schedule arranged around conditions and your interests. A second Serengeti night gives you more time to explore. A sunrise balloon safari can be requested at an additional cost, subject to availability.
Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Area
Enjoy further wildlife viewing before travelling towards the Ngorongoro area. Overnight at a lodge or camp selected to suit the following morning’s crater visit.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
Depart early for your crater safari. After wildlife viewing and lunch, return to Arusha. Discuss onward flights with our team before purchasing tickets so the departure time fits your itinerary.
Private or Shared Safari?
A private safari includes a dedicated vehicle and guide for your travelling party. It offers greater flexibility for photography stops, daily schedules and accommodation choices. It suits couples, families and friends travelling together.
A shared safari is a practical option for travelers who enjoy meeting others and sharing vehicle costs. Kilipath’s shared vehicles carry a maximum of seven guests, with guaranteed window seats and an English-speaking guide.
Shared departures follow a set itinerary. Requests for Northern Serengeti, Ndutu or additional Serengeti nights should be discussed as private safari options.
Accommodation and Package Inclusions
Choose camping for a closer outdoor experience, or lodges and tented camps for additional comfort. Camping equipment includes a tent, mattress, sleeping bag and pillow, with shared campsite bathrooms. Mid-range and luxury accommodation offers private bathroom facilities.
